Don't ignore the symptoms of colon cancer

When it comes to talking about colon cancer, most people prefer not to. No one likes to think about colon cancer because of how scary it can be. Almost everyone knows someone who has suffered with cancer and possibly even lost their lives to cancer.

Making matters worse is some kinds of cancer are related to areas that are generally considered taboo to talk about. Let's take colon cancer for example. No one likes to talk about what happens in the colon and often people ignore this area of his body until they have no other choice but to seek help for a problem that has gotten out of hand. When it comes to colon cancer, this can be too late.

Here are some facts that you need to know before you think you will just ignore anything that could be colon cancer symptoms.

This year alone there will be about 140,000 new cases of cancer in the colon in the US alone. Sadly there will also be some 56,000 people who will die from bowel cancer this year. This in itself should be reason to key you in that you should be at least educated on colon cancer symptoms, colon cancer stages or at least know about getting yourself screened for this disease.

While that last paragraph was a lot of bad news, there is some good news. If people pay attention to the signs of colon cancer or are regularly screened for this disease and are diagnosed in the early colon cancer stages, it is a treatable disease.
